These two flexible floor coverings may be superficially similar, but they could not be more different in terms of environmental credentials. Lino or Linoleum full name is eco-queen here, while vinyl is man-made from beginning to end.

You can choose from hundreds of colors and finishes and even some patterned Lino or take a design created specifically for you, if this is expensive. Available in sheet or tile form, Lino can be set by an amateur, but you must make sure your sub floor is in good condition, because Lino can be damaged by moisture. If you have chosen the design decorated with complex patterns, however, is an expertcalled in to lay.

Vinyl

It also comes in a variety of colors and patterns. The most popular contemporary vinyl are those that mimic natural flooring materials - wood, stone, marble, for example, or even glass and steel. This can be expensive, but have no seals andlittle attention, so that is low in cost. Vinyl does not take particularly well, however, and can drag items from heels or heavy damage on the surface.
